Job description

  • To contribute to the strategic success of the magazine
  • To achieve set individual target and yields
  • To generate weekly sales call reports for the National Sales Manager
  • Contribute to the development of the Sales Strategy and execution thereof
  • Initiate, develop and maintain business relationships with key clients in KZN
  • Maintain cross-departmental (Editorial, Production, Advertising and Circulation, Marketing and Finance) relationships
  • Improve SAHO regional profitability
  • Maintain efficient regional sales cost
  • Improve regional revenue forecasting
  • Establish new profitable projects, brand extensions, corporate profiles, events, ROP supplements, standalone supplements etc. for the region
  • Grow SAHO with integrated offerings, new initiatives, increased contracts and self-funding marketing initiatives to grow revenue in the region
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with current client base (direct and agencies)
  • Maintain updated client record
  • Improve synergies between print, online, directory and sponsorships
  • Implement a training and skills development plan for staff in KZN

  • Must have at least three years’ experience in the sales or consulting environment
  • Must have two years’ experience as sales manager
  • Must have magazine experience
  • Contacts in the advertising and marketing sectors will serve as an advantage
