Job description

  • Keeping a close eye on retail and editorial creative – locally and internationally
  • Researching both macro and micro fashion trends
  • Generating innovative creative concepts for internal direction and presenting to team
  • Compiling and presenting storyboards to client
  • Traveling to JHB for client meetings with buyers, marketing team and top management on merchandise direction and sign-off for upcoming issues
  • Conceptualising, presenting and styling fashion pages according to the brands aesthetic
  • In-depth understanding of client and target markets needs and expectations
  • Working closely with client and maintaining a strong, healthy relationship
  • Managing and mentoring a fashion assistant
  • Producing and styling fashion editorials (castings, locations, putting together team, styling up grids and stories to present to client)
  • Sourcing relevant merchandise in-store
  • Writing copy for fashion pages and features
  • Pre-production admin for fashion shoots
  • Building good relationships with agencies, photographers and hair and makeup artists
  • Sending out fashion briefs to suppliers
  • Merchandise management
  • Managing budget- expensing petty cash for all shoots and doing fashion departments recons
  • Producing and shooting product stills
  • Source recipe, organise permits and determine location details
