Job description

REPORTING TO: PR Account Director

Role and responsibilities

  • The AM role involves the management and implementation of PR campaigns and related events across a number of client campaigns, including media relations and liaison, client service, research, writing of high quality press material, and other related activities, as required
  • The AM is responsible for managing workflow and quality of output of their own work as well as of junior members of the account management team i.e. Interns & Account Executives
  • The AM provides support to the Senior Account Managers and Account Directors
  • The AM is to deliver timeously on all tasks required and to manage expectations regarding deliverables with their Line Manager should they differ from the original requirement
  • The AM will be asked to build excellent relationships within the Positive Dialogue team, our clients and our network of collaborators
  • The AM’s personal manner should contribute to PDC’s team in a fun, solutions driven manner that supports our positive team culture

Requirements

  • Relevant PR Tertiary Qualification
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a PR agency
  • Computer literate, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Web 2.0/ Social Media
  • Strong creative writing skills (for traditional PR and social media channels), with good media sell-in skills (essential)
  • Media relations experience
  • Account management experience with strong client service skills
  • Ability to plan, organize and control work flows
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent English written/verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong service orientation
  • Confident individual with good presentation skills
  • Have a problem-solving disposition (show initiative)
  • Ability to manage stress and meet deadlines
  • Be a team player and mentor to junior colleagues
  • Willingness to travel, if required
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport
